The star of the ASI in Pista Spring Experience 2026 was a very rare Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm, crowned “Best of Paddock” on Sunday, March 1st, at the Tazio Nuvolari Circuit during the track day organized by the Automotoclub Storico Italiano.
The award-winning specimen belongs to brothers Alessandro and Emanuele Morteo and is one of approximately 40 units prepared by Autodelta, Alfa Romeo’s official racing department.

A true race car pedigree
The car boasts a sporting history spanning over ten years, with participations in:
- track races
- hill climbs
- touring competitions
Its final victories date back to the 1980s, a sign of a very long-lived competitive career for a competition touring car.

The GTAm represents the most extreme evolution of the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA. The acronym stands for Gran Turismo Alleggerita Modificata / America, because it was derived from the U.S. version of the 1750 GT Veloceequipped with SPICA mechanical injection instead of classic carburetors.
With this machine, Alfa Romeo dominated the European Touring Car Championship during the 1971 and 1972 seasons.
