“AUTO IN DIVISA” 2026: HISTORY, MEMORY, AND MOTORING PASSION IN VITERBO

The third edition of the event combining historic civilian and law enforcement vehicles successfully concluded following an itinerary through the villages and memories of the Viterbo province.

During the weekend of April 25, 2026, the province of Viterbo hosted the third edition of “Auto in Divisa” (Cars in Uniform), a significant motoring event featuring Law Enforcement vehicles alongside civilian classic cars. The event crossed the municipalities of Vitorchiano, Vetralla, Ronciglione, and Viterbo, unfolding over three days dedicated to culture, institutional tributes, and car collecting.

Friday, April 24th: The “Suspended Village” and First Tributes

The event kicked off in Vitorchiano, the picturesque “suspended village,” where participants admired the landscape and the world’s only Moai statue located outside of Easter Island.

Attended by local authorities — including Mayor Grassotti, the Commander of the Vitorchiano Carabinieri Station, Francesco Buoniconti (President of ANSI Viterbo), Marco Salimbeni, Piero Lanzi, and the local Police Commander — floral tributes were laid at the War Memorial and the Salvo D’Acquisto monument. A key highlight was the speech by General Mastrangelo (President of ASSOARMA) and the official presence of the Viterbo Radiomobile Unit, authorized by Marshal Taormina Calogero. Among the participating clubs, the Club Alfisti Romani stood out with a beautiful vehicle on display.

Saturday, April 25th: The Duty of Remembrance

Saturday was dedicated to honoring fallen heroes. Following breakfast at the Cancellieri service station, the convoy moved to the Vetralla Carabinieri Station to honor Marshal Marco Zaccani, who died in the line of duty. Father Giovanni, arriving from the Gemelli Hospital, delivered a moving homily in the presence of the Zaccani family and civil/military authorities.

The tribute continued at the Vetralla cemetery for Marshal Bellucci and later at the San Lazzaro cemetery in Viterbo. Escorted by the State Police (Polizia Stradale), participants honored the grave of Angelo Ioppi, a Carabinieri officer and Medal of Military Valor recipient, who survived Nazi torture in Rome’s Via Tasso.

The day also featured social moments, including a static car display in Viterbo enriched by the DNA Alfa Club led by Fabio Inghilterra, and a guided tour in Tre Croci of the Carabinieri memorabilia exhibition, curated by event organizer Roberto Spolverini.

Sunday, April 26th: The Charm of the Alfa 75 and Final Farewells

The final morning featured the 1988 Alfa Romeo 75 (First Series) in Carabinieri livery, displayed in front of the Vitorchiano station. Thanks to the cooperation of the Bagnaia and Bomarzo commands, participants took commemorative photos with current officers and historic vehicles.

After a visit to the “Le Peonie” gardens and a final stop at the Moai statue, the event concluded with a farewell lunch. The appointment for all enthusiasts and supporters of the culture of legality is already set for the 2027 edition of “Auto in Divisa.”
