CAR LOVERS: BORN “MEET & BREAKFAST” IN EUR – DRIVEN BY PASSION

Sunday morning in Rome is no longer just a time of rest: for a group of enthusiasts, it’s time to start the engines, meet and tell each other stories on four wheels. They are called The Car Lovers – three Roman friends with different origins, Vittorio Repetto, Matteo Pinna and Fabrizio Poli – and they decided to transform their free time into something more, giving shape to a new fixed appointment: “Meet & Breakfast”, one Sunday gathering a month in Cars and Coffee style, but with an all-Roman soul, designed for those who love historic cars and wasps and the simple conviviality of a meeting between enthusiasts.

The idea came about almost randomly, between dinner and laughter:

«We met for dinner after the September exams», the three say. «Vittorio had just read a book on the history of Eur that talked about a historic restaurant –the famous Tor De Cenci restaurant – and we thought: why not go there with our cars?».

That purpose, between the promise of a gricia together and the desire to come together, became the drive to create something new: an open meeting point, organized by boys, for boys – and beyond.

A story made of machines and memories
In the recording of their first interview, familiar images emerge: Fiat 500 of youth, the Willys entrusted to those who love vintage, the family Giulia that resurfaces in memories. It’s not just nostalgia: it’s the story of a shared passion that grows with those who live it.

«We’ve shared this passion for years», they say. «We went from going to gatherings to having the urge to organize something of our own».

What is striking is the spontaneity with which they speak: not the formality of those who organize out of duty, but the energy of those who propose a place to meet for the pleasure of doing so – chatter, coffee, photos and engines.

The claim chosen by The Car Lovers perfectly sums up their spirit:

«Guidati dalla passione. Driven by passion».

A phrase that works as much in Italian as in English, and that becomes a manifesto of their way of experiencing the historic car!

Meet & Breakfast: the format
The format is simple and immediate: one Sunday gathering a month in style “Meet & Breakfast”, meeting at 9 in the morning for a coffee and a croissant, a visit to the cars and the possibility of exchanging experiences. The first appointment is set for Sunday 2 November, 9:00 am, in Piazzale Don Luigi Sturzo (Eur, Rome) – a place that talks about architecture and a modern city, perfect as a backdrop for period models and young enthusiasts.

The intent is clear: not to create a closed or exclusive event, but to open a space where anyone who loves cars can feel at home:

«We want something of our own, organized by boys for boys», they explain, «a place to meet without too much formality, but with respect for the machines and the stories they bring with them».

What to expect at the first meeting
At the Meet & Breakfast there will be cars, of course, but also wasps and motorcycles and, above all, stories: those of the owners, of the restorations, of the trips made out of passion. It’s the kind of gathering where you can find a Fiat 500 next to a Willys, discover a restoration project or hear the story of a long and exciting journey! The three organizers count on participation that mixes young enthusiasts and more expert collectors, in an informal atmosphere.

The collaboration with Vintaagecar and CollezionismoAuto.it will also give the event editorial coverage: photos, stories and interviews that will remain online and help tell the story of the project beyond the morning of the meeting. The idea is to create content that is not limited to a photo gallery, but that gives back the human dimension of these gatherings – the people, the bonds and the little big stories behind each car.

Young, but with roots in the past
One thing catches the ear in the audio interview: the lightness with which kids talk about the past and the desire to relate it to the present. There are those who remember their grandfather with a 1100, those who remember the first Fiat 500.. And it is precisely from these memories that the desire to transform a habit into an event was born: to preserve a sociality that was once built around service stations, trattorias and car parks.

It’s not a nostalgic project, though. It is rather a proposal that brings together conviviality and technical care, passion and sharing.

«If the Italian Top Gear comes out, so much the better», they say laughing – but behind the joke is a willingness to do things right and build something that lasts.

An invitation open to all
The Car Lovers in partnership with @vintaagecar chose to start like this: with a first meeting, the hope that it will go well and the determination to grow step by step. For those who live in the city and want to share their passion, the appointment is simple: arrive with your own car, bring the history it has, stay for a coffee and a chat!
