Elegance, automotive passion, and contemporary art met once again on the frozen lake of the Engadin. The I.C.E. St. Moritz 2026 confirmed its role as a landmark event for the automotive elite, transforming the crystalline surface of Lake St. Moritz into a unique setting unlike any other in the world. Fifty masterpieces of classic and sports automotive engineering brought to life a spectacle that went beyond the boundaries of a competition, celebrating the automobile as a work of moving art and as an expression of culture, design, and vision.

A competition that is also a cultural experience

The I.C.E. is not just a competition, but an immersive event capable of engaging a broad and international audience. The 2026 edition offered an unprecedented program, strengthening the dialogue between automotive heritage, Alpine lifestyle, and artistic experimentation. The entire St. Moritz community played an active part in the event, thanks to installations and activations spread between the lake and the city center, creating a vibrant atmosphere that turned the event into a true festival of winter elegance.

Best in Class: Icons on ice

On the opening day, Friday, January 30, the international jury selected the Best in Class across the five competing categories, honoring models that represent fundamental chapters in automotive history:

• Lancia Stratos (1976) – Legendary Liveries
• Maserati 4CLT (1949) – Open Wheels
• Jaguar XJ220 (1993) – Birth of Hypercar
• Ferrari 750 Monza (1955) – Barchettas on the Lake
• Talbot-Lago T150C SS “Teardrop” (1937) – Icons on Wheels

The Best Sound award was presented to the Pontiac Vivant (1965), which won over the jury and the public with its unmistakable acoustic signature.

Free laps and reflections on the ice

On Saturday, January 31, the lake became the absolute protagonist with free laps by the competing cars. This was one of the most anticipated moments, where the cars were able to express themselves in motion, reflecting off the icy surface in a visual spectacle of rare beauty. The roar of the engines, the dazzling white of the ice, and the iconic lines of the vehicles created an emotional experience that captivated both participants and spectators alike.

Best in Show and special awards

Closing the 2026 edition was the presentation of the Best in Show, awarded to the Talbot-Lago T150C SS “Teardrop” (1937). The trophy, designed specifically for The I.C.E. by “archistar” Norman Foster, was presented alongside Peter Harrison, CEO of Richard Mille EMEA. The Spirit of St. Moritz award, designed by artist Rolf Sachs, went to the Ferrari Dino 206 S (1967), while the public choice award, Hero Below Zero, was given to the McLaren F1 GTR Lark (1996).

Thrills in the sky

Great enthusiasm was also sparked by the performance of the Patrouille Suisse, the official aerobatic team of the Swiss Air Force. The flyover above the frozen lake and the Engadin mountains provided the audience with a high-impact aerial display, sealing the bond between the territory, technology, and emotion.

An event looking toward the future
